Luscious and Lovely young chocolate skinned Lana Davis had been excited about being a witness to the spectacular. Dr. Josef Morrow was attempting to access the dimensional rift. In case any trouble arose, it was hoped her fabulous Star Rod could control it. She was one of this world’s promising young heroines, Star Girl.

Then, the unthinkable happened. The smug overconfident scientists and their witnesses learned there was a horrible price for their curiosity.

“It’s exploding!” someone shrieked. “Run.”

“Energy shields cracking!” Another voice called.

Then, the shields holding back the twisted like energy force started to dissolve as if they never existed. This was her moment, and she’d rather it not have been. Lana readied her Star Rod, its energy powers activated.

But, it couldn’t control the powerful waves. She grunted, fighting against the tidal wave of currents, trying to drive them back.

Then someone screamed, “The doors won’t open! We’re trapped!” The person was panicking, with good reason. Then the twisting color filled energy waves filled the room, enveloping everyone.

A powerful force knocked Lana through a hole that had opened in thin air, terror screamed from her lungs as she was flung through. There was just a feeling of mild warmth, then bad vertigo. She screamed and fell. She couldn’t feel what she was touching, then began choking.

Finally, the chaos was over. Her body ached as Lana pushed her barely clad body up. She let out a loud moan. Lana found herself in a field. She took a breath.

Steadying herself, Lana looked around. Dear Lord, how? Then, a shrill whistle sounded and a lasso ensnared her. What now? She wondered as her heart pounded from fear among other things.

The two men neared, one holding the rope which snared her. He was young, and hunkered down, maybe early 20’s, with a goatee. The other a full bearded man, much bigger gut.

She reached for her nearby rod, a muddy boot came down on it.

“Looky what’s we got’s ‘ere Zeke,” her captor called, his eyes widened like eggs. He whistled again. “A cute lil’ bunny.” He laughed.

“No,” Lana gasped. How? Where was she?

“Reckon she be a run-way Clem?” the big man questioned in a guttural voice.

“What’s yo name darlin’?” Clem asked. “Who yo masta?”

“I-I,” She stammered. So many thoughts ran through her mind. What was the use. “Lana.”

“Scared critter, eh? Clem.”

“I reckon she should be, prob’ly knows what’s comin’.”

“You know wha’s comin’?” Clem asked.

Slavery, she thought. They still practiced that. Was she in another time, or another world? What had that twister tunnel done to her?
The men looked her voer. “No marks on’er,” Zeke said. “Bet she’d fetch us a fair ‘nough price.”

Tears slowly dripped down Lana’s cheeks. The men led her to their wagon.

“Man,” Zeke ran his hands over her back. “Don’t find one everyday like this bare no clothes.” He shook his head, then pulled away her bra. “Nice boobs.”

“Don’ worry ‘arlin’,” Clem said. “You find a good masta, you gonna be worth a lot a money, so you jus’ behave.”

Lana merely nodded her head. She was still in a state of shock.

The men talked as they rode to town. Better double check, make sure everything was proper. Unusual something like her being out her, no master. Might want a doc to look at her also.

Clem waited with the bosomy beauty while Zeke went to fetch a doctor and sheriff. He looked over her as Lana huddled there in the wagon, her head bowed.

Lana was settled into straw covered stall. Secured by collar and leash to a post. Clem had gotten a doctor to examine her.

Zeke soon returned. The sheriff said he saw no legal issues. Lana said she had no master. They asked where she was from, the doctor said she seemed to be in a state of – shock.

“So, you be called Lana?”

“Yes.”

“Found this with’er,” Zeke handed the rod to the sheriff, who examined it.

Wide-eyed, as nerves filled her, “Careful with that!”

“What?” the sheriff asked angrily.

Then, his finger hit a switch and a blast issued from the rod, through a window. “What manner of device is this?” Sheriff demanded.

“A weapon,” Lana answered.

“Where are you from?” The doctor asked in a low voice.

“You’d never believe me.” Lana said.

“try us,” The sheriff said. He settled the rod aside.

So, Lana told them her story. Grim faces were on the men.

“What do you think, Dr. Wayne?”

The doctor looked at the rod. “All things considered, she may just be telling the truth.”

Dr. Wayne? She looked at the man.

“Tell you what boys,” Dr, Wayne looked to Clem and Zeke, “I’ll buy her from you.”

The two smiled wide.

The me would deliver Lana to the Wayne estate. She’d be wearing a simple dress. “You’ll be serving my son, Bruce.” The doctor said.

“Brue Wayne?” Lana questioned. She looked at the man, “Dr. Thomas Wayne?”

“Familiar with him? With me?” Doctor Wayne asked.

“From my world, yes.”

“Love to hear more about this other world,” Dr. Wayne said. “What am I on the other world?”

Dead. Her eyes veered to the floor. “A doctor.”

Smiling, he chuckled. “Good.”

The Wayne manor looked like the place she was familiar with. In the livingroom, she was presented to Bruce, and his girlfriend Selena Kyle.

“You really believe she’d from another world?” Bruce asked.

The old man’s face was grave. “I’ve seen enough to convince me.”

For now she’d play the part of obedient servant to the Wayne’s. Lana needed to learn more about this world.

A field worker, Isaiah, handsome young man, nice body she mused. Lana asked if he’d ever tried to escape.

No point, he told her, no place to go. Not since the great enslaver, President Abe Lincoln.

Great enslaver? She chilled. “What about Mexico?”

He snorted. “Not welcome in the Mexican Empire.”

Lana returned to work. She was quiet. Them the Military commander came to question her.

She told him her story, showed how the rod worked. Disbelief registered the mustached man’s eyes. Yet, he had to believe what he was seeing in the rod. The mystery rod, he called it.

“Commander Gordon” Bruce said. “James Gordon.”

“Nice to meet you, sir,” Lana said.

So, who was the Joker over here?

Sheriff Oswald Cobblepot dropped by. He visited with Thomas.

Lana returned to her duties, and served the company and masters drinks.

“Do they have slavery on your world?” Dr.  Wayne queried.

“It has been illegalized,” She told them. “Though, it does still exist.” A sad thought. “Not raced based.”

“But, a crime on your world,” Bruce said. He shook his head.

A cat jumped into Selena’s lap. “Who are we on your world?”

Lana hesitated.

“Go ahead girl,” The doctor said.

“Bruce, wears a costume, a superhero, the Batman.” She looked to Selena, “Catwoman, criminal.” Commander Gordon, “Police Commissioner.” Cobblepot. “Crime lord.”

The sheriff’s eyes widened. “Crime lord?” He shook his head.

“So,” Bruce sounded proud. “I’m a hero on your world?” He laughed and relaxed in his chair.

Lana nodded her head. “Yes sir.”
