Sighing, Zoo Master, real name Dana O’Hara, nestled Richard Grayson’s hair as they lay in bed. She had given him quite the work out, now he rested, and she relaxed.

She caressed his bare chest as he nuzzled against hers. “Soon, sweetie, they will all learn. People belong in cages more than beasts do.”

Dana looked up as the lioness, Tia, entered. “Something wrong?”

“No,” Tia replied. “Rex wishes to see you.” Raising her arm, she fired a dart from a wrist mounted weapon. “Sorry. Rex says humans do not rule beasts.”

Stung, Dana fell to the floor. Then pushed herself up. Dick sat up.

“Stay, lover,” Dana said, waved a hand at Dick. She followed Tia out. She would meet with those now calling themselves the Beast Lords.

She knelt before Rex and purred. Her neck still stung. Even if the dart had not been empty, Dana was still quite immune to the drugs she had invented.

Sirens shrieked; people screamed. The villain called Killer Croc was on another rampage. With a little help from a maddening drug administered by the Jokey.

“Croc!” Batgirl yelled, swinging in with her Bat guise. She landed on her feet before him. “My father and I used to watch you wrestle, you know. Back when you made real money.”

Stopping, Croc smiled. “I almost don’t want to kill you now.” Then he roared. “But I do want to rip that damn costume off your body!” His tongue slid across his lips from one end to the other.

Violently, Croc lunged. Batgirl darted from his path. The reptile collided with a telephone pole, grunting, he slumped. As a bat-rang thrown by Barbara connected, he spun to her. “That hurt.” He rubbed his aching skull.

She followed through with a kick toward the head. He grabbed her ankle before connection. Then Croc spun Batgirl in circles, before sending her plunging into the windshield of a car.

Another creature appeared, like a humanoid cobra in a hooded purple cloak. It seemed like a female from basic form and speech. A tongue flicked from its mouth.

“I am Kobriana,” The serpent hissed. “Now, stay out of this. Humans should not battle the Superior Beasts. The reptile is mine to hunt and take down.”

“What?” Barbara snapped. She spun off the car.

The serpent carried a crossbow. As she started to aim, Croc’s claws swung, knocking the weapon away. Kobriana fell back before he could strike her.

Swinging forward, Batgirl’s fist caught the reptile’s jaw. He staggered back, take n by surprise. Then swung at her with a balled fist. The heroine dodged that blow, shifted about, grabbed his arm and twisted it behind his back.

Kobriana hissed, struck him with the butt of her weapon. Croc reeled to the walk.  Dislodging Batgirl, he sent her careening to a storefront window. Kobriana caught her before collision.

“Spunky little human,” Kobriana said. “I may just make you my side kick.”

Sidekick? She thought. I get enough of that stuff from Batman.

Roaring, Croc sprung to his feet. He jumped at Kobriana. From behind, Batgirl spun a cord that wrapped around his legs. Grunting, he fell, and glared at the heroine.

Kobriana moved to strike him with her weapon. Spinning, he dodged the blow. As he rose, another line wrapped around his waist, pinning the villain’s arms. Temporarily. “This didn’t work when Batman tried it.” He snapped the cord.

He laughed. “Still doesn’t work.” He sighed as if disappointed. “Really hoped you’d added something new – Superior Beast.”

Twirling, Batgirl delivered a kick to his jaw. Kobriana Ensnared Croc with a binding weapon of her own. “Try this! If you want something different, Killer!”

He howled as electro-shocks went through his body. Kobriana grabbed Batgirl’s arms. In her other hand she held a remote control like device. The trio disappeared in a field of energy waves.

Batgirl fell to the floor when they materialized. She gasped, looked around the sterile room. They were in what seemed like a column shaped teleporter.

Before Batgirl could fully react, Kobriana grabbed her wrists and secured them, behind her back. Feline creatures entered; they drug the unconscious Killer Croc from the teleporter.

“This one is mine,” Kobriana said. She hoisted a stunned Batgirl up, and over her shoulder. Then took the defeated heroine to her quarters.

“Of course, you need punished for you disobedience,” Kobriana said. “But I think you’ll make a useful side kick.”  A feline, orange fur with black strips maybe four and a half foot tall, approached. It stripped Barbara’s bat costume from her. She was left in cape, cowl and boots.

“Where I’m from, bats fear us.” Kobriana said. She sat there, Barbara was spread eagle, and manacled to columns.

“What are you doing with Croc?” Barbara asked.

“He will be kept in hibernation for now,” The serpent answered. “When we get home, his fate will be decided on. If we can find some way of restoring him to a proper state. Otherwise, he will be destroyed.”

Standing, she strolled to Batgirl. “What is your real name?”

“Barbara Gordon, though most just call me Babs.” She made a weak smile.

“I will call you my Viper,” Kobriana flicked her tongue at the heroine’s nose. Then outfitted her with a collar.

She now wore a snake-like costume, a snug fit. And a face mask. “Now, Viper.” She smiled.

“Now, we need to find this troublemaker called the Zoo Master.” Kobriana mused, turning from the Bat.

“I’m sure she’ll be coming to Gotham,” Bat said. “They most always do, and we have a spectacular zoo.”

“Yes,” Grinning, Kobriana turned back to Bat. “Very good my little bat. We’ll set our trap in the zoo.”

“I gather Zoo Master is not a friend?”

“Of course not,” Kobriana answered. “We are here to clean up her mess. The beasts shall indeed rule this world, but not under her control.”

Rousing form a nap, Pam Isley slid into her favorite green dress. She was Poison Ivy, and she had a visitor – Cheetah, with her son – Thomas, and the captive Wonder Woman, bound and on her knees, head bowed.

“Hey, Pam.” Cheetah stroked Wonder Woman’s hair. “Look what my son and I finally got! She even has his cubs.”

Smiling, Ivy laughed. She snapped, “Sugar vine?”

Bruce Wayne entered the room, bare-chested. “Yes darling?”

   Cheetah’s eyes widened. “Wow.”

   “Bruce?” Wonder Woman cried. “No.”

“Oh, yes,” Pam cooed. Then kissed his cheek. “The caped crusader, and billionaire hottie is under my total control.” She laughed. “Now, what do you want with me?”

“To help us reshape the world!” Cheetah said.

“I thought our world was beasts only,” Thomas said.

“There’s always room for a little Poison Ivy!”

“Of course,” came another voice. A shadowy figure shaped like a snake.

“Well,” Pam said. “You must be Batgirl.”

She stepped from the shadows, “I am Viper.”

“Well,” Cheetah hissed, her son tensed for battle. “Looks like someone’s remodeled you.” She laughed.

“Which means there’s another party playing.” Pam said.

“Certainly,” Kobriana approached behind Viper “She belongs to me now.”

    Viper knelt before her master.

“So, why are you here?” Thomas asked. “To recruit is or join us?”

“You need to join me,” Kobriana said. She smiled. Then looked to Bruce. “Two bats under our control. You would make a great ally.”

“Thanks, Kobriana.” She looked to Cheetah and Thomas. “Care to switch sides?”

“It would be sensible,” an emotionless Viper said.

“Rex has Zoo Master under his control.” Cheetah said.

“I truly doubted it,” Viper said. “You think someone like her would make the mistake of allowing her own tool to be used against her?”

“I think we should join your side,” Cheetah said.

   “Fickly, Cheetah.” Pam said.

Cheetah put her hands on her lips and laughed.

Thomas appeared more worried. He caressed Diana’s hair.

“We will tolerate no double crosses,” Kobriana warned. “Try and you die. Soon your Rex and his allies will also be part of our force.”

“What force is that?” Pam asked.

“The army of the ani-men,” Kobriana hissed. She flicked her tongue.”

“How would you like the strength of your amazon?”

Cheetah smiled. She already wore Wonder Woman’s tiara, belt and lasso.

Kobriana raised a staff. The gem at its top glowed like shiny frost. Its raised enveloped both Cheetah and Wonder Woman. After it faded, Diana moaned and slumped down. Cheetah clench fists and growled.   “Power,” Cheetah said. “It means never having to say you’re sorry.” She laughed.

Zoo Master was at the zoo, with Rex and a couple gorillas.

Recruited and permanently changed by Kobriana people, Man-bat, She-bat and their daughter soon arrived. Following was another male bat creature.

Smiling, Zoo Master looked up. Then back down, where she saw Kobriana and Viper.

“I don’t remember creating you,” Zoo Master said.

“You didn’t,” Kobriana said. “Now, we are taking over.” She held her staff. The gem now glowed gold, encompassing the beasts.

Screaming, hands clenching the sides of her head, Zoo Master fell to her knees.

“Now,” Kobriana looked down at Zoo Master. “You will obey.”

Zoo Master look up, tears sailing from her eyes. “I will obey.” The words choked from her mouth.

Rex grabbed Zoo Master’s hair and yanked her close to him. “I already own her.”

“No,” Zoo Master gasped. “The drugs you used were fake. You never controlled me. Until now, Kobriana does.” Her head dropped.

   Rex growled.

“She will obey you now,” Kobriana assured. “If you and your people work with us, we will give you rule over this earth.”

“We are with you, sister,” Rex assured. “And our slaves.”

The caged beasts began to transform with an orange-red glow of her gem.

Screaming people ran. Two blonde zoo attendants, a blonde and a brunette were rounded up by chimps.

A growling tiger jumped before a mother and her nine-year old son. “No, please.” She cried. He scooped her up over his shoulder. His mate grabbed the boy up. They carried their prey elsewhere.
