Mine is but to watch and record, but never to interfere…I am the Watcher

Metropolis-

“No one knows the cause of these bizarre anomalies, starting now to appear all over the globe.”  Lois Lane said into the camera being held by Jimmy Olsen.  “Even the vaunted Justice League is at a loss to explain this phenomenon.”  She turned then to show an image of Hal Jordan, known around the galaxy as Green Lantern hovering in the air before a large swirling mass of varied colored light.  He was attempting to scan the anomaly with his ring but judging by the look on his face he wasn’t having much luck.

Similarly, on the ground beneath him the mysterious caped figure of Batman was operating a large machine, far beyond most people to understand.  There were diodes, multiple fuses and wires emerging from all around the device and it hummed with a low, throbbing intensity.  From the back of the machine trailed a series of wires that were in turn connected to a sensor held by Superman.  Like Green Lantern, he hovered in the air in front of the anomaly trying to get readings off of the energy.

“I’ll try and get a word with one of them, but they look awfully busy right now.”  Lois said into the camera, then she turned and approached the machine Batman was operating.  Lois hated doing live coverage like this, she was a newspaper reporter.  Normally this sort of thing was reserved for Cat Grant, but the Daily Planet was stretched really thin right now, covering this event worldwide.  Therefore, her editor, Perry White, had loaned her and her typical cameraman Jimmy to the Channel Six News team as a temporary live news reporter.  She had done the work before, most notably during the horrible battle between Superman and Doomsday, when the world had thought he died.  Her fame and notoriety had really increased during that time though her heart had broken watching the man she loved beaten to death by that monster.  She glanced up at him as she approached the Bat and saw him return the glance.  She knew him well enough to know he had heard every word she was saying into the microphone.

“Batman, can you give the viewers of Channel Six any indication what is happening here?  What do we know so far about this mysterious energy?”  she asked, extending her microphone toward the cowled hero’s face.  ‘Come on Bruce,’ she thought, ‘give me something.’  She knew that Batman was really Bruce Wayne, billionaire playboy from Gotham City… it was one of the perks to being married to Superman.  No one knew she was married to him of course, everyone else just thought she was married to his secret identity Clark Kent, her fellow reporter.  But she was actually friends will all of the League, knew the secret identities of just about everyone… more importantly they had all trusted her with that information, and that wasn’t a trust she ever planned to violate, in spite of her profession.

“Miss Lane, I’m rather busy at the moment.”  said Bruce, his gaze fixated on the computer screen that was attached to the device in front of him.  When she didn’t lower the microphone, she saw him sigh, then he turned to face her fully.  He glanced toward the camera in Jimmy’s hands… Jimmy didn’t know any of their secrets, and didn’t know she knew.  “All I can tell you with any certainty is that this energy field showed up about an hour ago.  It’s the first one since these anomalies started to form, with the exception of the one Wonder Woman passed through, that has manifested itself in a way that can be seen with the naked eye.  The Justice League has been able to discern that they represent some sort of… interdimensional gateway.  Several of our members have been lost to them already, and other individuals… from other dimensions that is… have come through from the other side.  Near as we can figure, none of these… portals for lack of a better word… lead to any one place, we’ve had individuals from multiple realities appear here in ours.”

“Batman, thank you for your time, I know you’re very busy.  One final question, can you tell us who the League has lost to these portals and who may have come through from the other side?  It seems it would behoove the public to be able to recognize these new faces.  It would also help them to know who the Justice League have deemed trustworthy.”  Lois said into her microphone.

There was a pause, and she could read his face well enough to see that he was surprised by her question.  “Yes… perhaps that would be prudent.  I’ll see that the Planet gets that information Miss Lane.  And as to who we’ve lost…” she had heard from Clark about Diana, “...Wonder Woman and Zatanna were pulled through to the other side so far.  We know Princess Diana made it safely thanks to the arrival of a hero from that dimension, someone called Spider-Man.  We haven’t heard anything about Zatanna yet.  There have been others, I’ll send a list as soon as I have time to compile it.”

“The people of Earth thank you Batman.”  She turned to Jimmy and ran her finger across her throat, signaling him to kill the live feed.  Once he had done so she turned back to Batman and leaned close enough that only he could hear her, “I thank you too, Bruce.”  He gave the faintest, almost imperceptible nod.  She knew what it had cost him personally to give that interview in costume.  Bruce Wayne was used to the limelight, but Batman was usually only videoed from a distance and never spoke to reporters. She was certain the only reason he had was for her benefit… and likely Clark had asked him to, probably over their secret communication devices that connected all of the League.  “Jimmy?” she turned to the young camera man whom she had worked with for many years.  Usually, he was working a still camera instead of a video, but he was skilled with both.  “Would you take the gear back to the van? I’ll be along in a minute.”

The red-haired freckle faced young man nodded and took her microphone, then turned and headed back toward the white van in the distance, emblazoned across the side with Channel Six News in large red letters.  Once he had gone, she turned back toward the massive energy field, hovering about fifty feet in the air. It was a good hundred feet tall and wide and rippled with radioactive energy that swirled through yellow, orange, red, blue and purple lights.  Occasionally an image from another world could be seen flickering through it, like the picture on an out of tune television.  When the energy field had first appeared an hour before, it had been ten feet high by ten feet wide.  It had multiplied by ten in the last hour and wasn’t showing signs of stopping.  She knew the League was concerned, and getting more so.  As a result, she was concerned… and getting more so.

She stood on the ground beneath her husband's feet and tilted her head back, looking up at him.  Clark sensed her presence and glanced down.  When he saw the concerned look on her face he turned and glanced back at Batman.  The caped crusader nodded and shut down the machine.  Superman landed lightly on the ground in front of her.  “You okay?” he asked her, reaching out and caressing the side of her face with the back of his hand.  She turned her head into his touch, taking comfort in it as she always had.  The League had already cleared away bystanders, so there was no danger of being seen in so intimate a fashion.

“I’m scared Clark, the whole damn world is scared.”  She was hugging herself reflexively, something she only did when she was feeling insecure, which didn’t happen often with this woman.  “No one knows what’s happening here, or what to expect next.”

He pulled her into an embrace and as always Lois got a bit of a thrill feeling that incredible physique pressed against her.  She laid her head against his broad chest and listened to the calm, steady heartbeat within.  “I know Lois… but I can tell you this off the record.”  He paused till she nodded.  She knew there were things that the Justice League didn’t want people to know yet, she had been playing this game as long as he had… longer in fact.  “Mister Miracle and Doctor Fate are monitoring our readings from the Watchtower.  We’ve been working on a theory for a while now, the theory that this energy finds its roots in a combination of magic and technology.  Before she disappeared, Zatanna was able to confirm for us that her magical senses did in fact detect the energy field, but we’ve been able to develop technology that can get some readings too.  We’re only just starting, but we believe we’re getting close to some answers.”

“Does the vaunted Doctor Fate or Mister Miracle have a theory about what’s happening?”  She asked, tilting her head to look into his impossibly handsome face.

“We think…” he paused, uncertain how much he should share, but with her he always shared everything, and she knew that, “...we think that whatever this energy is, it’s trying to merge different realities.  It’s started by pulling certain people from one to the other and now this field… it’s not just getting taller and wider Lois.  It’s also getting deeper, and where it’s deepening the world itself seems to be expanding.”

She frowned.  “You mean it’s… merging our planet with another one, from another reality?”  she asked him, her voice tinged with awe and no little fear.  “But… won’t that play hell with our tectonics?”

He nodded, “It’s already starting. We’re getting reports of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions all over the world.  The League is stretched really thin right now, trying to deal with all these natural disasters.  We believe the heroes of these other realities are doing the same wherever they are, but of course we can’t know that for sure.  We know Diana would be, and she would likely have whatever allies helping her.  There are still more questions than answers though, I’m afraid.”  Suddenly he tilted his head to the side and his eyes took on a distant look.  She knew he was listening to his communicator, likely someone on the distant Watchtower asking for his help with something.  “Lois, I’m sorry, I have to go.  There’s a tsunami moving toward the coast of Africa… millions in jeopardy.”

She nodded and smiled vaguely.  “That’s rapidly becoming the story of our lives together you know.”  She shifted up onto the tips of her toes and kissed him quickly on the lips, then stepped back.  “Go… save the world.”  Then she shook her head, “This time you’re saving multiple… realities, aren’t you?”  He said nothing, just looked to the skies and took off like a rocket, her black skirt and hair buffeted by the wind kicked up in his wake, the former revealing a brief flash of long, shapely legs.  She turned toward the machine he had been helping to operate and Bruce met her gaze briefly.  He gave her a reassuring nod then went back to work as Captain Atom appeared from somewhere, likely a Watchtower teleporter, and picked up the sensor Superman had been using moments before.  As he hovered into the air to continue her husband’s work, Lois turned and started toward the distant News van.

When she arrived at the Channel Six van there was no sign of Jimmy anywhere, the camera and microphone she had given him were gone too.  “Jimmy?” she called, turning on the spot and glancing around.  The city streets were vacant save for the members of the Justice League and her.  The League had evacuated the surrounding area for six blocks, the Flash taking care of that in a matter of seconds.  They had been allowed to stay only because the League had agreed the people had a right to know what was happening.  That had been mostly Clark’s influence, she knew.  “Jimmy!” she called again.

It was growing dark in Metropolis, the sun was setting behind the skyscrapers, casting the streets in deep shadow.  The light coming from the dimensional anomaly behind her cast eerie, flickering colors on the walls all about the area.  A bright flash of white light from her left drew her eye and she turned that way.  It was followed a few moments later by another and she rolled her eyes, thinking the camera man had found something he thought was worth pursuing and taking pictures of.  Sometimes Jimmy Olsen did have a good eye for a news story though… shrugging she headed toward the alley where she had seen the flashes of light.  At the mouth of the alley she paused, the buildings here were much closer together, making the space in between darker.  “Jimmy?” there was no sign of him, then she caught another flash of light from an open doorway about halfway down the alley on the left.  “I swear, if you’re pulling me on a wild goose chase, I’ll kill you.”  She grumbled to herself, then started down the alley, curious what could have pulled her young friend away.

Lois stepped into the doorway and found herself looking into the storeroom of a small department store, she couldn’t tell which franchise it was from the furniture that was scattered about, but likely it was a Macy’s or some such place.  Her eyes widened in horror at the scene that she took in a few short feet from the door.  “Do come in Miss Lane… and close the door behind you.”  The man speaking was slightly taller than average with a long, ugly face and wisp of a black goatee on his sharp chin.  He wore a domed helmet on his head, the base rimmed in white while the dome was black.  His shoulders were shrouded in a white cape that trailed down his back nearly to the floor.  Beneath the cape he wore a black bodysuit with a white circular emblem on its chest, white gloves and broad white belt about his waist.  He stood next to an unconscious Jimmy Olsen, who was slumped to the side in a plush armchair, the tip of his index finger pressed to the young man’s temple.  “I’m Doctor Arthur Light.”

Lois swallowed nervously, glancing back the way she had come.  There were several members of the Justice League back there, any one of whom could handle this joker.  But she was familiar with Doctor Light, she knew his powers and his reputation. That finger could lobotomize Jimmy in the blink of an eye, and she couldn’t risk that.  “I know who you are.”  She told him coldly, doing as he had instructed her and stepping into the dimly lit room.

“Oh good, then we can dispense with the pleasantries.”  Feeling her heart sink into her chest, Lois reached out with one hand and closed the door to the storeroom behind her, feeling a lead weight settle into her stomach as she as she closed herself in with the hated villain. “Excellent, most excellent! Keep following directions that well, and we’ll get along famously!”

“I doubt that you psychopath!  You’re the sadistic bastard that raped and murdered Sue Dibny!”  she spoke of the wife of Elongated Man, a longtime friend of hers and Clark’s.  “The very thought of you and I getting along is repulsive.”

He smiled coldly, his dark eyes emotionless. “Come over here and join us Miss Lane, where I can see you better.”  She saw that his finger never wavered from Jimmy’s temple, so she had little choice.  Slowly she crossed to where he stood, positioning herself in front of the unconscious Jimmy.  She glanced at the young cameraman, saw that he had a pale complexion and a large bruise on the side of his head.  “He’s alright… for now.”  She turned her gaze on him, saw that the villain was slowly running his eyes over her, his gaze like a physical caress, making her skin crawl.  “My my, you are lovely.  It’s easy to see why Superman is so… drawn to you.”

            “Pig.” she growled at him.

Light smiled slightly, again the expression didn’t reach his eyes.  Those were burning with a very different emotion just then.  With his free hand he reached behind his back, under the white cape and produced a pair of handcuffs, standard police issue.  Lois’s eyes narrowed slightly, wondering where he had acquired them.  Was there a police officer lying hurt somewhere nearby?  Many of them had been assisting the Justice League with their cordon, in order to keep civilians at bay.  “Secure your wrists behind your back.” He said, presenting the manacles to her.

Lois frowned at him, her full lips pursing defiantly, but then she glanced at the unconscious Jimmy, saw a small ball of light building at the end of Light’s finger.  She took the handcuffs without a word and then moved her hands behind her back and clamped them around her own wrists.  Light smiled and nodded, then shot a laser through Jimmy Olsen’s temple.  Lois watched, horrified, as it erupted out the far side and then his eyes shot open briefly, wide and startled, and then they clouded over, and he slumped to the side… very dead.

“No!” she shouted, “Jimmy!”  she took a step forward at the same time as Doctor Light did, driving a balled up fist into her lower abdomen.  Lois doubled up, falling to her knees as the air was driven from her lungs by the blow.  Her head came to rest in Jimmy’s lap for a moment, then Light had her by the hair and jerked her roughly to her feet.  Turning her away from the terrible sight of her dead friend, Light roughly shoved Lois face first against a concrete pillar, one of several throughout the room that supported the roof of the storeroom.  He pinned her there from behind with his own body, her hands cuffed behind her back were now pressed against his crotch… which she felt swelling ominously.  “You son of a bitch!  You didn’t have to kill him!”  she sobbed, her eyes blurring with tears.  Lois hated that he was making her cry, she was a stronger woman than that… but she had been working with Jimmy Olsen for years… watching him die so suddenly and unnecessarily like that… it had nearly broken her.

“No… I didn’t.”  He agreed, his palms sliding up her arms, “But I enjoyed it!”  His long fingers hooked into the collar of her dark blue blazer and pulled it down off her shoulders, revealing the sleeves of the red silk blouse she had worn underneath.  He chuckled as he realized that the handcuffs he had made her wear weren’t going to allow him to remove the jacket.  “Stay perfectly still Lois… may I call you Lois?  I feel all lovers should be on a first name basis.”  She felt a chill slide down her spine at being referred to as his lover, it left absolutely no doubt in her mind what he intended for her.  The space immediately around them was filled with a few brief, bright flashes of light and she felt heat on her arms, but a moment later her blazer fell away, sliced to several pieces by the lasers he fired.  She gasped in surprise as he stepped back and jerked her away from the column, only to spin her around and shove her back against it again.  He raised his left hand, pointing his index finger toward the ceiling and she saw the tip of that finger start to glow threateningly… so she didn’t move as he reached out with his right hand, that finger also extended.  She swallowed bile as his finger touched her full, soft lips, tracing them lightly, then he trailed it slowly down to her gently rounded chin and continued down her throat.  “Three things a gentleman will always open for a lady,” he said as his finger slid slowly down the front of her neck, toward the open V collar of her blouse, “doors, jars…” the finger slid into the valley of her cleavage, visible in the neckline of her shirt, “...and blouses.”  He said that last word with a smile, his fingers working quickly to undo the buttons of her blouse down the front.  His smile widened as the material parted, revealing her high, firmly thrusting breasts barely contained within the black lace bra she wore.  She wore it for Clark’s benefit, knowing from his own admission that he would occasionally use his x-ray vision to look at her.  He had assured her he had only done so since they had been married, and she believed him… peeping Tom was not something Superman was known for.  “Very nice Lois.  I mean, you’re certainly no Wonder Woman or Powergirl!  But you’re easily one of the most beautiful non-superheroines in the world.”

When he had undone the bottom most button of her blouse, he moved his hand back up, sliding the blouse off of first her right shoulder, and then her left.  It settled around her manacled hands, but this time he didn’t seem to mind that he couldn’t take it off her.  His right hand moved back down from her shoulder to her breasts, cupping one through her bra and squeezing it experimentally.  Lois fought not to react, not wanting to give this lunatic the satisfaction of knowing just how scared she actually was.  Then his left hand came forward and pressed the glowing tip of his index finger against the base of her ribcage.  Her heart started to pound, panic building within her.  Was he about to kill her?  She felt the warmth off that finger, not hot enough to burn but she was certain it was leaving a red mark in its wake.  His index finger slid upwards, then it was under her bra, where the cups came

together in the middle, pointing upward.  “Lois…” he said softly, and she was certain he could see the fear in her eyes now as she met his gaze, “...lift your chin for me.”  She tilted her head back against the pillar, “Little farther.”  She craned her neck backward till her chin was pointed straight up and then there was a flash of light.  She felt the heat on her chest, and then she felt the release of the pressure around her boobs as her bra separated, the straps sliding down her arms to join her blouse.  She gasped, startled at the suddenness of it, realized he had severed the connection of her bra with his laser, its trajectory following a straight line up between her breasts, along the front of her neck and raised chin and all the way to the ceiling of the storeroom.

Light leaned in and kissed her neck, causing Lois to shudder with revulsion but she did nothing to resist him as his lips moved down her throat, then her chest.  She whimpered as his mouth found her breasts, she couldn’t help herself.  She was a strong woman, but even the strongest person can only take so much.  He took one of her large nipples into his mouth, sucking on it noisily and then she gasped and jumped slightly as he bit down, not hard but enough to ensure she felt it.  He chuckled, straightening and stepping back, rubbing his crotch with anticipation.  “On your knees woman.”

Lois shook her head, some of her trademark defiance coming back to her.  Light glanced over his shoulder at the still, dead form of Jimmy, then glanced back at her with a raised eyebrow, silently asking if she wanted to end up like him.  “I would rather die than willingly give myself to the likes of you!” she said, her voice a savage snarl.

“I believe you Lois.”  He said softly, his smile brittle.  “But the thing is… I would rather you not be willing!”  Then he hit her hard across the face with the back of his hand.  She gasped, staggering to one side and he lashed out with his left foot, kicking the back of her knees.  They buckled and she fell to them heavily, wincing at the impact of her kneecaps with the hard stone floor.  She groaned in pain as he grabbed her by her long hair and jerked her head back.  Bending low over Lois, Doctor Light crushed his mouth to hers savagely.  Her eyes widened in surprise and disgust, then his tongue was in her mouth, pushing through her lips and between her teeth.  She bit down hard, tasted his blood and relishing it.  He shouted, pulling back, the tongue stretching obscenely between their mouths for a moment, his eyes flashing angrily.  She thought she was dead as he pointed that left finger at her, closed her eyes in acceptance of it… but death didn’t come.  By the time she had opened her eyes again he had regained his composure.  She could see blood around his mouth and felt some satisfaction at that, but he had just finished pulling down the front of his costume pants, having done so while her eyes were closed.  His manhood was free now, bobbing up and down in front of her face.  She wanted to look away, revolted by the sight, but she was also mesmerized, mostly out of terror.  He wasn’t very thick, but he was quite long and extremely hard with his desire for her, the member slightly curving upward.

“What do you expect me to do with that?” she asked, trying to sound as disgusted as she could by the sight of his masculinity.

Light just growled, using his grip on her hair to pull her to her full kneeling height in front of him.  His penis came to rest neatly between her thrusting bosoms, and he started to thrust lightly against her, using his other hand to push them together as best he could to either side of his rod.  Lois tried to turn her head away with revulsion, but his grip on her hair wouldn’t allow her to.  “That’s nice…” he sighed, his head rocked back and his eyes closed.  Lois saw this, knew it was a good time to attack, but she was in a bad position to do so.  Her hands were cuffed behind her, and she was on her knees, so kicking was out.  She was too close to him for an effective headbutt.  She could do nothing but endure his repulsive desires, the damp of his precum was gleaming between her breasts now.  After a few moments of this he stopped and took a half step backward.  Looking down, he met her gaze coldly and pointed that left index finger at her threateningly.  “Take me in your mouth Lois… your dignity is not worth your life.”  She took a long time to consider those words, knowing full well he was likely to kill her after he was done with her.  What had caused him to single her out anyway?  Did he know about her and Clark?  Which would lead to the supposition that he knew who Clark really was and that thought terrified her.  No… but it was no secret she and Superman had a connection, every interview he had ever done had been with her, with a few exceptions.  Likely Doctor Light was just trying to find a way to hurt him and thought to do it through her… but seeing what Clark would do to this fiend after all this was incentive enough for Lois to do whatever was necessary to survive… even if that meant performing oral sex on him.

She leaned forward as much as his grip on her hair would allow and opened her mouth slightly.  Light grinned and moved his hips forward, reaching in with his left hand to wrap his fingers around his shaft and guide it toward her mouth.  He hesitated briefly, sliding the head of his penis over her soft lips then he growled his conquest as he pushed into her mouth, forcing himself all the way into her.  Lois’s eyes widened and she fought back the gag reflex, he wasn’t as large as Clark, whom she had done this for many times… but he was still quite long and it required her to deepthroat him to get him all the way in.  Her nose was buried in his pubic hair, the stench there making her eyes water slightly.  ‘How long has it been since you’ve bathed Light?’ she silently asked him.  He started thrusting again, the feel of Lois’s lips around his shaft driving him wild.  She did as little as possible to please him, though she did suck as he withdrew and lick as he entered.  Nor was it long before her mouth was making repulsive slurping sounds and saliva was building up to spill from her mouth and run down her chin, splashing onto her beautiful bared breasts.

Light leaned over her then, his grip on her hair tightening.  She knew what was coming even before he spoke, “You better swallow every drop bitch.”  When he exploded into her mouth the world around them seemed to explode as well.  The walls and ground shook violently, and plaster fell from the ceiling onto them.  Light was thrown backward, his grip on her hair disappearing as he cried out, arms pinwheeling as he tried to regain his balance.  He fell, as did Lois, her face and breasts now coated with his semen which had sprayed forth just as he staggered back.

Lois remembered her brief conversation with her husband from… had that only been a few minutes before?  It felt like hours.  ‘Earthquake!’ she thought to herself, her prone form shaking so much it was moving across the ground of its own volition.  From the corner of her eye, she saw Light trying to stand but the shaking beneath and around him was preventing him from it.  Lois knew she wouldn’t be able to, especially with her wrists bound behind her, so instead she started pushing with her feet, adjusting the angle of her movements with the vibrations of the earthquake.  “Lane!” Light roared and she winced against the bright flash of a laser that exploded against a wall near her.  Thankfully, the shaking seemed to be throwing off his aim too.  “I’m not near done with you yet cunt!”

Realizing she wasn’t getting away fast enough, Lois started to roll. It was awkward with her wrists cuffed, but she managed to get some distance between them, especially when a heavy chunk of the ceiling collapsed between her and her rapist.  By the time he had blasted it to oblivion she was gone from his sight.  “Fucking whore!” he shouted.

She felt the shaking start to subside just as she came up against a wall of the storeroom.  Using that wall she pushed herself unsteadily to her feet, then had to duck back down quickly as Doctor Light sent a beam slicing through the air, looking for her.  It was emitting from the palm of his hand, like a flashlight beam, sweeping back and forth.  She glanced around frantically, looking for an escape, wanting… needing to get back out to where the members of the Justice League no doubt still were, cleaning up after the quake.  She saw a door about twenty feet from her, thought it likely that it would lead into the store proper.  Awkwardly, with her hands behind her back and her 37C’s swaying in front of her she started for the door, trying to keep to the shadows as much as possible.  She was a foot from the door when it disappeared, just blinked out of existence.  ‘Shit,’ she thought, ‘illusion!  That means….’

He took her from behind, slamming into her with his shoulder, sending her staggering forward into the solid wall where a door had been moments before.  Her near escape had restored much of Lois’s fighting spirit, and she spun quickly as he moved to pin her to the wall, using his weight against her to hold her upright while she slammed a knee into his groin.  Light grunted and staggered away, doubling over and clutching his groin.  “Fuck you!” she growled, spinning to the left and running as best she could down the length of the wall.  She glanced over her shoulder once and saw him coming behind her, limping slightly, stooped over and looking pissed.  His sore crotch had him moving about as fast as she was able to, but she couldn’t shoot lasers from her hands!  One of them streaked past her head, just above her shoulder, like a naval vessel firing a warning shot across the bow of an enemy ship.  Swearing, Lois staggered into the wall, instinctively moving that way to get away from his laser blast.  A swirling morass of multi-colored light erupted suddenly from the wall in front of her and Lois screamed, trying to throw herself backward as it appeared.  She recognized it of course, had been doing a story on it earlier.  Apparently, the portal had expanded again and right into her path.  At that exact moment Doctor Light launched himself at her in a leap, closing his arms about her slender waist and tackling her to the ground.  They fell forward and rolled… right through the portal….

Since her arrival in this strange but oddly familiar version of Earth Diana had made quite a few friends.  They were curious about her of course, and she about them.  They had introduced themselves, these Avengers.  She had met Iron-Man on the day she arrived of course, as well as Black Widow.  Since then she had met Hawkeye, the Vision and Scarlet Witch.  Iron Man and Hawkeye had flirted with her openly, tried to win her over and Tasha, the Black Widow… that was a woman that Diana could grow to like very much.  Natasha was a woman not afraid to do whatever it took to get the job done, very much like Diana herself.  She had even met this realities versions of Hercules and Thor.  The former, on her plane of existence, was a man she had a lot of reason to detest, and it was difficult not to let some of that bleed through here for they were very similar.  Thor was… well, he was Thor.  On her world he was a redhead, here he was a blonde and admittedly much better looking than the version of Thor she had met and even fought a couple of times.  He too had tried to win her over, even openly invited her to his bed but she had of course declined.  Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, was another woman that Diana could relate to.  A woman of great power who had learned to fear that power.  Diana had gone through a similar learning process once.  Of all of them though, it was Steve Rogers, the one called Captain America that she liked the most.  He reminded her very much of Steve Trevor, the Air Force pilot that had been responsible for bringing her to man’s world all those decades ago.  He was dead now, long since… but she saw so much of him in Cap.

“So, your powers… you said they’re based off of the Greek Gods?”  Steve asked her as they relaxed in his quarters in Avengers tower the night of her fourteenth day on his Earth.  She had already made a name for herself here, was heralded as one of their greatest heroes because of all the help she had offered them since her arrival.  Just that day they had officially inducted her into the Avengers… for however long she stayed with them.  “How does that work, exactly?”

She smiled, her full pink lips turning up at the corners. That simple expression made his heartbeat kick into overdrive.  “Magic is the best answer to that question I suppose.”  She sighed when she saw it wasn’t enough for him, noted that his eyes dropped ever so slightly to watch her impressive bosom rise and fall.  It was the first outward sign of his attraction to her… the first obvious one anyway.  There had been others, more subtle but there just the same.  She had spent years around men who had stared at her great beauty while trying not to appear as though they were staring.  She often found it quite entertaining, but in Captain America it was… endearing.  “When my mother, Queen Hippolyta of Themyscira molded me from clay and asked the gods to breathe life into me, they also graced me with certain… gifts.”  He shook his head slightly, smiling.  She liked his face, the short blonde hair and the blue eyes, so often hidden behind his cowl.  “What?”

“Forgive me Princess, but you’re talking to a born and raised Christian.  It’s difficult for me to admit the existence of Greek Gods much less that they’re still active in the world.”  he said.

Diana laughed.  “Steve, you work with one!  Hercules!  And what of Thor?  Is he not a Norse God?”

Cap nodded.  “True on both counts, and I have trouble wrapping my brain around them as well.  We even have our own Ares, I’ve fought shoulder to shoulder with him… and against him.  It’s still difficult to believe.”

“Faith is an odd thing.”  She said with a shrug of her shoulders.  “Anyways, it was Zeus himself who gave me life, and with it my great strength.”

“How strong are you, exactly?  I’ve seen you do some things since you’ve been here that are normally reserved for the Hulk.”  He commented.

Diana regarded him curiously for a moment, then she nodded, recognition in her eyes.   “Ah yes… Doctor David Bruce Banner.  I’ve read the files… seen some footage.  He’s… impressive.”

“And scary.”  Steve commented without hesitation.  “When he loses control.”

She nodded.  “My strength is difficult to gauge.  The strongest being in my reality, Superman, is a very good friend of mine.  A fellow Leaguer.”  She had explained to all of the Avengers about the Justice League.  “My strength has been compared to his, indeed I am one of the only beings in my reality that could go toe to toe with him for any length of time.”  They fell silent for a moment.  “He is far more durable than I, I am bulletproof and can take a hit from some of the strongest in existence but… I bleed far easier than my friend does.  I’m faster than him though, faster than the Flash too.”  Captain America gave her a quizzical look.  “I keep forgetting you aren’t familiar with the heroes of my world.  The Flash is supposedly the fastest man alive, channels something called the Speed Force… but next to the swiftness of Hermes he can’t compete.”

“Hermes?  The Messenger god?”  Cap asked.

She nodded, her expression showing she was pleased.  “Very good.”

He shrugged, ‘Working with Hercules all these years…I’ve learned a few things.”

“That same swiftness makes me the best at bullets and bracelets too.”  She said, her eyes going distant, drifting back through years to the games she used to play as a child.

“Bullets and bracelets?”  he asked her.

She laughed.  “I can deflect them, with these.”  She held up the bracelets that covered the majority of her forearms.  He reached out and took one of her forearms in his large hands, pulled it closer to examine it.  His fingers slid down to her hand and he held it, she felt an electric jolt run through her, didn’t pull her hand away as he settled it into his lap, still holding it in his.

            “Looks like gold.”  he said.

She nodded.  “It is.  Magical.”  He nodded.  “No problem with accepting the existence of magic?” She inquired.

He chuckled.  “I’ve fought beside Stephen Strange, our Sorcerer Supreme.  Magic is easy enough for me to admit to.”  He settled against the cushions of the sofa in his quarters where they were seated.  “What else did the Gods grace you with?”

“Well, the story goes…” she cleared her throat slightly, “...the power of Zeus, the Wisdom of Athena, the Swiftness of Hermes and the Beauty of Aphrodite.”

He smiled and she saw something enter his gaze then that made a little fire ignite in her belly.  “That last part I can believe wholeheartedly.”  He reached out and caressed the side of her face with the back of his empty hand.  “You are exquisite.”

“You know Steve,” she said with a small, knowing smile, “I get my strength from Zeus, my speed from Hermes and my fighting ability and knowledge of tactics from Athena… do you really think beauty is all I got from Aphrodite?  She is the goddess my people have worshiped the most over the centuries.”

He swallowed, “As beautiful as you are… it isn’t difficult to believe you would have gotten it from a goddess.”

“Oh, I did, but that’s not all she graced me with.  Aphrodite is the goddess of love Steve, would you like to experience some of the other gifts she graced me with?”  As she spoke, she extended the fingers of the hand he held in his lap so that just the tips of her nails brushed lightly against his uniformed groin.  His eyes widened and his mouth dropped open as he groaned passionately, his manhood swelling in his pants to the point of being almost painful. It was such a vivid, erotic experience that his neck and shoulders arched slightly.

            “Oh… my… god.” he groaned.

“Actually,” she said softly, leaning toward him so that their faces were inches apart, “I’m a goddess… but I am yours, if you want me that is.”  There was no further talk, there was no need.  His hands found her waist and pulled her to him, lying back on the couch, pulling the shapely warrior on top of him.  Diana went with him willingly, her soft lips finding his, matching his hunger as they kissed.  She felt his need for her pressing against her flat stomach through the material of their costumes and a shiver went down her spine… Captain America was huge!  As they kissed, his tongue spearing into her mouth hungrily, the amazon met it with her own, their hands exploring each other’s bodies.  Their fingers were deft in their explorations, undoing fasteners, unzipping zippers and opening buttons where appropriate.  Pieces of their costumes started flying around the room, landing all around them.  One of her boots landed on his table, his top hit the door and slid to the ground, her armored bodice went straight into the air, was caught by the ceiling fan and tossed onto a windowsill.  They didn’t care, all they were focused on was each other and within moments they were nude, their individual touches becoming that much more heated and urgent as they explored.  “Steve…” she whispered, remembering another Steve she had once loved and finding she liked speaking the name in that way again, “...take me.”

He rolled, taking her with him off the couch and they fell to the floor between it and the coffee table.  Diana was on her back, staring up at him as he looked down at her.  He shifted his hips down and she spread her thighs, raising her long, svelte legs and locking them about his hips as he moved them slowly forward.  He found her hot, slick with desire and incredibly tight as he pushed slowly into her.  Diana sighed, her head rocking backward and her lips parting in ecstasy as he pushed up into her to the hilt.  He had never felt anything like her before, and while Captain America wasn’t exactly a player he had been with a few women in his life and none of them could match the feel of this goddess beneath him.  The heat of her, mixed with the tightness… but at the same time feeling as though her insides were made to fit him perfectly. Then she moved, her hips undulating provocatively in a circular rhythm, matching his own movements with perfection and he realized that this was what she had meant by the blessing of Aphrodite.  The Greek Goddess of love had turned her into the perfect lover, and she would be for any man lucky enough to share her bed willingly, she was the ultimate match for any male.

He braced himself up on his arms, which flexed against his weight but showed no real effort in keeping him elevated above her.  Diana caressed them, marveling at the physique of the man, thinking him to be built better even than Superman.  Superman earned his physique through genes, being a Kryptonian.  He didn’t have to work for it but Captain America, granted he was a product of the Super Soldier Serum she had read about in his file, she had seen how much he worked out everyday, had even joined him once in the gym and was nearly pushed to her own limits by his regimen.  She didn’t even think Batman could match his dedication to physical fitness.  “Yes… Steve.”

He said nothing, he let his body do his talking, his hips pounding against her audibly, fully eleven inches of patriotic log drilling into her repeatedly.  She moved with him, matching him expertly, her lithe body finding his tempo and not only matching it, but improving it as he took her.  Before long they were both sweating, their perfect bodies gleaming in the dim light of his apartment.  Her lissome form shook with his each powerful thrust, but her magnificent breasts, easily double D’s he thought to himself, barely jiggled as she moved in spite of their great size.  Somewhere a chime rang and distantly he recognized it as his communication device, but he ignored it.  Right then there could be nothing in all the world more important than the woman beneath him.  The sound trilled again, more insistently but he was more concerned with making Diana trill, and she did, her head rocking back erotically as she gasped out a sound between a scream and a groan.  Her body tensed, her legs tightening convulsively around him and as she orgasmed the feel of the warmth flooding his manhood brought forth the same in him.  He exploded into her, groaning mightily as he emptied his seed, thrusting deep with every spurt of semen.  She gasped and moved her hips to meet him with every final thrust, her manicured nails scraping the carpet beneath her, leaving deep gouges.  When the last of the sensations had passed, they collapsed, Captain America still inside her, her arms and legs wrapped around him.

“Are you sure you’re not the Goddess of Love?” he asked her breathlessly.

She smiled, stroking his sweat soaked hair as she held him to her, enjoying the feel of his hard body pressed against hers.  “I’ve been called the Goddess of Peace, actually.”  She said softly, almost whispering into his ear.  He couldn’t deny he had never felt more peaceful than he did right then, his weight pinning her to the floor beneath him. It was then the communication signal rang again.

“Damn, wonder what’s wrong now.”  He climbed to his feet and Diana whimpered slightly as he slid from her, marveling as he did so that he was still hard as steel and could easily have taken her for another passionate ride had they had the time.  “Not to worry, we’ll be doing this again real soon lady.  But it seems duty calls.”  She nodded, unable to deny his priorities were squared away.  She started moving around the room, gathering their clothing while he went to the wall panel where his communicator was mounted.  Turning it on for audio only so the two-way screen stayed blank, he called, “Yes?”

“Steve!  Where have you been?  We’ve been trying to get hold of you for a while.”  Said the voice of Clint Barton, Hawkeye.

He glanced over his shoulder at where Diana was pulling on her costume.  She had a shapely leg perched on his coffee table and was pulling a boot up over her well-turned calf.  He sighed, regretting that they had finished when they did but grateful he would have more chances.  “I was… busy.  What is it Clint?”

“There’s been another portal, someone came through and is raising hell in DC.  Description matches one given us by Wonder Woman, but we can’t find her to get a positive identification.  We think it’s Doctor Light, from her dimension.”  Hawkeye said.

Steve sensed the change in her demeanor, glanced over his shoulder and saw that she had paused in her deliberately flirty action of getting dressed and was looking at him with sharp concern on her pretty face.  “Can you patch the footage through down here Clint?  Diana is with me.”

There was a pause, and he could picture Hawkeye processing that bit of information, likely looking jealous for a moment.  “Coming at you.”  Captain America turned on the screen in his communication console and Diana stepped up beside him.  On the screen they saw Doctor Light, whose identity was confirmed to Cap’s satisfaction by the curse he heard her mutter.  He was standing in front of what looked like the Lincoln Memorial, firing lasers from his hands at a group of police officers.  At his feet, half naked and looking beaten was a pretty woman with long dark hair.

“Lois.”  Wonder Woman said.  In the time it took Captain America to turn his head and look at her, she was gone.  He kept turning, feeling the breeze of her swift departure and saw that she had gone out the window of his room.

“Clint,” he said, turning back to his communicator, “prep a Quinjet for immediate launch.  I’m going to DC.”

Arthur Light laughed as he shot another laser from the palm of his hand, sending another police cruiser up in a column of flame and smoke.  The officers themselves scattered from the blast, diving for cover.  They had learned already that their bullets were ineffective against him, as soon as he and Lois had appeared in this reality and he had the seen the cops, who pretty much look the same in any reality, he had thrown up a hard light shield and the bullets simply bounced off him.  Lois, for her part, was sprawled on the ground at his feet, half naked and with her wrists still cuffed behind her.  Doctor Light had tackled her through the portal in their own world and when they had landed in this one, she had hit her head. That, combined with the naturally disorienting effect of passing through the portal and Lois Lane was pretty much down for the count.  Light, for some reason, seemed fine.  The disorienting effect seemed to have skipped him, or perhaps it was what had made him so bloodthirsty as he was now shooting randomly into the screaming, retreating crowd.

“Light!”  He turned at the sound of his name being shouted in rage.  He saw Wonder Woman, the last person he would have expected to see having just arrived in a new dimension speeding toward him, her unbelievably beautiful face set in a wild anger.  “Get away from her you sick freak!”  He knew it was going to hurt, but he also knew from long experience he could lessen the impact somewhat.  Almost on reflex he reduced his shield to nearly skin tight so that when she hit him, and hit him she certainly did, the shield took most of the punishment.  He was knocked yards away, slamming into the marble side of the building behind him and sliding the ground.  He was dazed, his vision blurred but he was conscious which, considering who had just punched him, was a victory in itself.  Shaking his head to clear it he glanced up and growled, seeing Wonder Woman crouched beside Lois Lane.  He rose to a crouch himself and raised a hand, pointing his palm at the amazon princess and releasing a pinpoint fine laser of light at the top of her head, which was pointed at him.  His brow furrowed in consternation when his beam was suddenly intercepted by a red, white and blue shield with a five pointed star at its center.  The man wielding it, crouched behind it in fact, was clad in a similarly decorated costume.

“It would figure this dimension has superheroes too.”  He said to himself, turning in an effort to flee, thinking it the better part of valor.  He knew enough about Wonder Woman to fear her wrath and he knew nothing about this new arrival.  He was about to learn.  The shield struck him high in the back, sending him staggering and then toppling to the ground after which it rebounded twice off nearby objects and back to the star-spangled avenger’s hand.

“Just stay down, I’ll hurt you if you don’t.”  he said as he approached the fallen Doctor Light.

“I believe you.”  Arthur said, rolling onto his back and acting like he was raising his hands in surrender.  Instead, he fired twin lasers at the man, one from each palm.  Captain America was certainly not going to fall for that and moving almost faster than the eye could follow he launched himself into the air and flipped over Light’s head, launching his shield down at the prone villain.  The shield glanced off the side of Light’s head and knocked him cold, Cap landing lightly in a crouch and catching the shield after a couple of rebounds.  He motioned the police forward and told them to cuff the man, but not to take him away just yet.  He needed to talk to Diana about the best way to incarcerate Light.  He glanced around and saw her with the other woman, whom he had heard her refer to as Lois back at Avengers tower.

He approached and, sensing his nearness, Wonder Woman turned, her arm protectively around the other woman’s shoulders.  She had already retrieved a handcuff key from one of the officers and released the woman’s hands.  She had also done what she could to cover her nudity, having pulled the woman’s torn blouse up over her shoulders, buttoning the ones that hadn’t come off in her struggles against Light.  Cap saw her shredded bra on the ground behind the woman, but was tactful enough not to draw attention to it.  Diana smiled grimly at him, glanced past him at Doctor Light still unconscious on the ground and nodded her thanks for that.  “Lois Lane, may I introduce you to my friend Captain America.”  He smiled, appreciating her tact.

“Miss Lane, it’s a pleasure to meet you.  Any friend of Wonder Woman’s… but please, call me Steve.  My identity is publicly known.”  Wonder Woman seemed surprised at that, but then she smiled and nodded.

“She knows my true name and origins as well Steve.  Back home, Lois is married to one of my dearest friends.”  Lois was looking at Cap by then and he could see that she had been through Hell, but there was defiance on her face and a gleam in her eye.  She was far from beaten… he liked her already.

“Steve… thank you for your help here.”  Lois told him, nodding past him toward Doctor Light.

“It’s what I do.”  He assured her.  To Diana he said, “The other Avengers will be right behind me… do you want to take her back to Avenger’s tower?”

Diana looked at Lois and shrugged.  “I’m kind of out of my element here.” The reporter admitted.

Wonder Woman laughed.  “Dear Lois, this sort of thing has happened to you almost as much as it has to me!  You’re never out of your element!”  Then to Steve, “But yes, perhaps it would be best to keep her close by, until we have a firmer grasp on what’s happening here.”  Steve nodded, then turned and led the two beauties toward the Quinjet that was resting on a well maintained lawn a few yards away.  As they approached another landed next to it and more of his team disembarked.  It was proving to be a very long day….
