The Komicon Kidnap Kaper

Part One

There was a knock on the door, and when Felix opened it he was greeted with the sight of Bat Broad fully costumed in a skin tight gray latex body suit, blue high heel boots, topped off with a blue cowl mask and cape. "You look Magnificent." He offered the woman a chair. "Have you been doing this character for long?"

"About a year now." Gretchen answered. "My first gig was with Acme productions and they sold a ton of the videos."

"Well I'm offering a permanent assignment and an exclusive contract." Felix smiled and asked her to stand in front of the curtain. "You look just like the comic book character with that red hair flowing in the back."

Gretchen was so thrilled to be offered a full time job, she was overwhelmed, and stood before the movie camera in a classic pose with her hands on her curvy hips. "What should I do now?"

"Just act naturally." Felix grinned as a hand reached out from behind the curtain. "You'll do just fine I'm sure."

The young red haired model wondered what he meant, until a damp rag was suddenly thrust over her mouth. "WHAMMRRPPHHH!!" Her gloved hands shot up to grab the wrist holding the cloth. "MMMPPHHHH!!!" She screamed with all her might into the foul smelling rag, but it was completely muffled. "What is that terrible odor, stinging my nose....makkinng..me dizzzzy...ohhhh..helllpp." She pulled at the attacker's arm, as her head was drawn backwards against his shoulder. "C..can't..get thaaa..raaggg..away....feeeeling..soooo..weak."

"Don't fight it honey, just relax and let it happen." The gruff voice whispered in the trapped woman's ear. He grappled with the wriggling body as he lowered the female towards the floor.

"C..can't..stannn..upp." Gretchen felt her unresponsive body being lowered. "Whyyy...oohhhh...hellp..meeee." She felt her consciousness fading, and everything started to grow dark. Her head lay on the floor, as her eyes slowly rolled back, revealing nothing but white behind the small slits. "Uuuhhhhhhh." And then a long soft moan signaled the end, allowing the man to finally remove the rag from his limp victim and then stare down at the sleeping beauty dressed as the costume heroine Bat Broad.

The next morning at Police Headquarters, Detective Dawn Peters entered the Captain's office. "Good morning Bret, there was a woman reported missing at the Komicon last night." She walked over to the urn and poured a cup of coffee. "Looks like a possible kidnaping."

"Why don't you have a cup of coffee Detective?" The handsome Captain of Detectives scanned the tall sleek female. "That's all we need at one of the City's biggest convention. Gimme the details." He watched Dawn sit and cross her long shapely legs.

"Gretchen Phelps was a model, who dressed as the comic book character Bat Broad, and that's why she was at the Komicon." Dawn sipped the coffee. "No one saw her leave, but one girl said she had an appointment with someone. She had no idea who."

"Get down to the convention center right away." The Captain watched the cute little rear end sway out the door.

Meanwhile Felix was standing in front of the Acme Studio display as a demonstration was about to begin. "Gather round folks and watch the Yellow Hornette get chloroformed." A slight built older man barked out the announcement with a gorgeous female shape attired in a yellow and black leotard, standing at his side. He then motioned for the woman to get ready, and she stood up on the small temporary stage, as curious onlookers gathered to watch the performance. They didn't have long to wait, when a tall burly man dressed in a black hood with a mask ran up on the stage to grab the woman, thrust a rag into her face, and wrapped an arm around her slender waist.

"MMRRRPPHHH!!" The Yellow Hornette yelled into the cloth as she gasped for breath. "Hey, he's using real chloroform..JEFF..STOP IT!" Her thoughts screamed. "Uuugghh..that odor..what's happening?" She felt an awful tingle throughout her system, and her vision blurred.

The crowd loved the scene, especially when the Heroine was lifted from the floor and those long booted legs flailed wildly in the air. Her elbows swung back and forth aimlessly, as her body twisted in the man's strong grip. "YEAH!" They yelled.

"Sooo..sleeeepy..Jefff..pleeeeeeze..stoppp..uuhhhhh." The shapely figure relaxed in the man's arms, allowing him to remove the rag and toss the limp body over his shoulder, and leap from the stage with Felix not far behind.

"Where's he going with her, they have to sign autographs." Anthony watched the masked man disappear down the long hall, as the small crowd applauded. "That wasn't in the script." He waited and waited, but they didn't come back. However the real Jeff staggered from a storage room onto the main floor. "Jeff, what are you doing here, where's Fran?"

"Someone conked me on the head." He slurped his response and sat down. "Ohh that hurts."

"You mean that wasn't you?" Anthony became very puzzled.

Just as Mac ran out the back door, carrying the unconscious Yellow Hornette over his shoulder, Detective Dawn Peters drove up. "Hey what are you doing with that woman?" She leaped from behind the wheel and yelled. "PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR!" Dawn never noticed Felix come up from behind. "AAGGGHHHH!!" A sharp pain surged through her head, causing the detective to release the grip on her pistol, and collapse to her knees on the hard pavement. "Whaa..hit..meee? UUNNGGHH!" She felt one more blow crash against her skull.

"I did, dearie." Felix watched the woman slump forward, groan with pain for a moment, and then sprawl out to lay very still.

"C'mon Felix, we gotta get outta here." Mac complained. A moment later the panel truck exited the parking lot, leaving the Detective unconscious on the ground.

The Komicon Kidnap Kaper Part 2

"What are you doing here, Detective?" Captain Harrison remarked as he entered Dawn's cubicle. "I thought they told you to go home."

"I'm fine. He couldn't crack this hard head." The pretty young blond detective was scanning through comic book characters on the computer. "How's this one?" She turned the screen around.

"That's not much of a costume." He secretly visualized Dawn wearing that skimpy outfit.

"What do you think of me going undercover as Wonder Chic?" She watched the Captain try to cover up his embarrassment.

"I was going to assign Bedford to that task, but if you're well enough..."
He stared at the skimpy red white and blue costume on the screen. "You'll have Bedford and McGuire as back-up. Be ready at six."

The crowds filled the convention center, as all the specialized booths put on their shows, highlighting their particular characters. Felix and Mac had stored both of their recent victims inside the warehouse studio near the docks, so were now hunting another woman. "Look at that one, she's perfect." Mac pointed to a model dressed in a navy blue leotard, who called herself Shadow Gal. Both men were dressed as EMT personnel, and pushed a gurney through the crowd to a position near the Shadow Gal booth.

"She just drank from that bottle, so take this one and replace it." Felix handed his partner the specially prepared water bottle. He watched Mac carefully switch the two bottles and start back, but was startled to see a beautiful blond wearing a Wonder Chic costume walk past. "Hey, did you see her?"

Who?" Mac asked.
The Police woman I conked on the head. She's over there." Felix pointed to a tall brunette with a red bra trimmed in white, a star studded blue thong topped with a thin gold belt, and red high heel boots.

"Wow, how did I miss her, but she's a brunette, the police dame was a blond." Mac protested.

"She's wearing a wig, you dummy, and there's a back-up nearby, so look around for somebody talking to a radio." Felix scanned the crowd. "And there'll be a van outside with someone recording everything."

"We can't kidnap that other one with this copper right here." Mac complained, and was ready to leave.

"Oh contrare it just makes it more challenging." Felix spotted Wonder Chic speaking into her watch, and looked around to spot a woman in a mini flared skirt speaking into hers. "That one over there, she's the back-up." He led Mac through the crowd to stand next to Bedford. "Really crowded tonight, are you with the Komicon?"

Bedford was irritated at being interrupted, but quickly deemed the EMT person as harmless. "I'm with promotion, just taking a sample of the crowd reaction...ouch..whaa..wash..thasss?" She felt a sting in her left butt, and instantly became dizzy. "C..can't stann..uppp..was happp,,uhhhh." The cute police woman collapsed into Mac's arms, but was still awake.

"It's all right folks, she just feinted from the heat." Felix advised the people who became alarmed at Bedford's condition. "Take her to that store room over there." He then whispered to his partner, who lifted the nearly unconscious Police Detective, and carried her limp body away with her legs and arms dangling in the air, and her head bobbing up and down.

"Donnn't..uh..put meee..uh" Bedford struggled to protest, but the words wouldn't come out clearly, and she was too weak to move.

"Ohh shut up." Mac stuffed the police woman behind some boxes, and looked around for cord to tie her. "There's some over there." He picked up a length of hemp to begin binding his victim's limbs. After securing her arms and legs, he needed to keep her quiet. "I need that medical bag." Leaving the woman moaning and groaning he went back to Felix. "I need the chloroform, she's still not out."

Meanwhile Dawn lost contact with her back-up and stood to look around. "Where is she?"

"What's happening in there?" McGuire asked from the truck outside..

"Bedford has disappeared." Replied Detective Peters.

"What do you mean disappeared?" Mcguire was dumbfounded. "Should I come in there?"

"No Jo. Let me check things out first." Dawn walked over to the spot she last saw her partner. "Where could she have gone?" She then spotted Mac going into the storage room. "What's he doing in there?"

Josephine Mcguire was monitoring the situation in the security van, and heard Dawn talking to herself. "Be careful Peters, you don't want to be conked again." Dawn smiled at Jo's admonition, as she slowly approached the door.

Inside the storage room Mac knelt down beside the wriggling captive, removed the chloroform bottle from the bag to soak a rag with the contents. "This will keep you quiet." He moved the rag towards the helpless Bedford's face.

"Noooo..donn..dooommmpphhhh!" She made a weak protest, which was stiffled by the damp rag covering her mouth. Being weakened by the previous injection, her eyes rolled up, and she immediately went limp.

Mac was keeping the rag in place, when he heard the creaking door open. "Is that you Felix?" There was no response, so he stood to see who it was.

Dawn entered the room, and saw no one, but heard a voice from behind some of the boxes. Before answering, she felt a presence behind her, and whirled around to see a man with a blackjack raised over his head. She instinctively kicked him the groin, but before she could swing a punch, her arms were pinned by a strong arm wrapping around her waist. "NOMMRRRPPHHH!!" A damp rag was thrust over her mouth. "CHLOROFORM!!" Dawn violently shook her head, stomped her high heel on the man's foot, and then twisted free to face Mac limping on one leg. "OH NOO YOU DON..AAGGHHHH!!" Suddenly her head exploded with pain. She fell forward grabbing both sides of her forehead.

Mac tried to catch the falling Wonder Chic, but was pushed off his feet, landing on the concrete floor with the beauty on top of him. She tried to recover and struggled to her knees, but Felix swung the blackjack once more, smashing it hard against the beauty's skull.

"UUNNGGHH!!" Dawn saw flashes of light, felt her body floating through empty space, and then nothing. She fell back on top of the prone thug, where she remained very quiet and unmoving.

"Peters, what's happening?" Jo called over the radio. "Bedford, Dawn, answer me." The police woman leaped out of the van, weapon drawn, and rushed into the convention center. "What could have happened?" She raced to the last reported location, which was the Shadow Gal pavilion. Approaching the head man she asked. "Have you seen Wonder Chic?"

"She was here, but then left suddenly." The man answered, and then turned to his crew. "Did anybody see where Wonder Chic went?"

"I think I saw her going into that storage locker." A man in a superman outfit pointed to the room across the aisle.

"Thanks." Jo then radio'd for back-up before entering the room. "HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!" She yelled at Felix. "What have you done with Wonder Chic?" The two stood facing one another in the middle of the room lined with huge cartons, while Mac finished tying Detective Peters with the hemp rope. "I heard the struggle, so don't deny it. What have you done to her?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about." Felix moved forward.

"Stop right there, my back-up will be here in a minute, and we'll find out what's been going on." She waved her gun at the man.

Meanwhile Mac took a small canister from the medical bag, and sneaked around boxes to a spot at the side of the menacing police woman. "Hello there."

Startled by Mac's sudden appearance she turned to face him, only to receive a spray of knock out gas. "UUHHHHHH!!" She dropped the weapon, and felt her legs grow weak. "Can't stay..awaaa." Collapsing onto the hard floor, Jo moaned and tried to move. Her body stretched out and then relaxed.

"Tie her up with the other two." Felix went back to the main arena, where Shadow Gal was about to perform. However, the costumed heroine had been drinking from the tainted bottle and wasn't feeling too well.

"Marty I'm feeling a bit woozy." The raven haired beauty tried to stand, but fell back onto the wooden folding chair. "Sooo..weak..I can't..doo..it..Marty." The plastic bottle slipped from Shadow Gal's hand as her arms sagged to her sides. "Sooo..sleeeee." Her head fell forward and then her body slumped out of the chair, sprawling onto the plastic tarp.

"HELP..I NEED HELP OVER HERE!" Marty knelt beside the fallen woman.

Felix waited just long enough before rolling the gurney up to the stage. "Out of the way folks, and let me in there." He leaned over Shadow Gal, lifted her eyelid, and then firmly stated. "Have to get her to the hospital." Looking up, Felix saw his partner exit the storage room and yelled. "MAC GET OVER HERE, I NEED HELP." The two men dressed as EMT personnel lifted the limp Shadow Gal onto the gurney, strapped her down, and then raced down the aisle to the exit.

"Captain,we just received an urgent call for back-up from Detective Mcguire on the Komicon detail." The policeman rushed into the office. "I've dispatched units to the site."

The Komicon Kidnap Kaper Part 3

The police swarmed into the convention center looking for the three Detectives, and finally located them in the storage room, bound gagged and unconscious. After the ladies were removed to ambulances, Lieutenant Phillips quiped to a group of male detectives. "Looks like the Devil Dames struck out." They were laughing when the Captain walked up.

"Devil Dames? Is that what you call the three ladies?" He disbursed the group and turned to the Lieutenant. "Be careful Phil, we don't want a harassment suit."

Felix and Mac drove the blue panel truck to the rear of the warehouse, and pushed the gurney inside, where they laid Shadow Gal along side the Yellow Hornette, and Bat Broad. "Put the mask over her face and turn on the ether. We don't want her waking up."

Mac did as he was instructed, but looked at his partner , amazed at how easily he dealt with those police women. "Who is this guy." He wondered.

Mac wasn't aware that Felix was really Frederick Henry an ex-detective lieutenant that quit the force, when he was passed over for promotion to Captain. After fifteen years of exemplary service Fred resented having a junior officer promoted over him, so now he wanted to embarrass the new Captain, and this elaborate scheme was intended to do just that.

"Hey Felix, why didn't we bring those police women, since we had them prisoner." Mac finished hooking up the mask to the ether tank.

"Think about it Mac.We would have caused a stir carrying three women out of the convention center, and besides there wasn't room in the panel truck." He smiled wryly. "It's better they come to us." Felix picked up his cell phone and dialed.

"Hello, who is this?" Dawn answered the ring.

"A friend, who's tired of the other detectives making fun of you women detectives...calling you the Devil Dames." Felix pretended to be the anonymous friend.

"What do you want?" She was a bit puzzled.

"That blue panel truck you've been looking for has been spotted behind a warehouse near the docks. Just thought you ladies would like to know."

"Hello, who is this?" Dawn realized the stranger hung up. "He's either a friend or this is a diabolical trap." She leaped from the hospital bed to round up her partners. "What do you think girls, do we go for it?"

They all agreed that this was an opportunity to redeem themselves, so they headed for the warehouse. It was dark by the time they arrived, but there was the truck, parked in the rear of the building. A flash of lightning signaled an approaching storm, and thunder shook the ground, as the three women entered the door to reveal an unlit hallway leading to a lighted area some distance ahead. "There's a voice coming from that room." She pointed down the hall, and led the other two towards it.

"MMRRRPPHHH!!" A hand reached from the darkness to cover Jo's mouth, while an arm wrapped around her waist, pulling the slight Detective into a room. "MMPPHHHH!!" She screamed again, but no one heard her as the other two continued along the dark corridor. The familiar sickly sweet acrid fumes stung her nostrils. "Chloroform..oh no..I can't let this happen." She kicked her high heel boots wildly in the air, and pulled at the rag, while trying to hold her breath.

"Holding your breath? Let me help you." Mac whispered in the woman's ear as he clamped the rag harder, cutting off Jo's air supply.

After a few moments her lungs cried out for air, but now she wasn't able to breathe even the vile chloroform. "Is he trying to kill me?" She wondered as her nails dug into the attacker's skin with no result. Her slim body wriggled in his grip, and she felt herself fading into darkness, but at the last moment, the man eased his hold over her face, allowing Jo to gasp for the much needed oxygen. She inhaled a huge dose of the knock out chemical, which quickly slammed into her brain like a sledge hammer. Suddenly her vision blurred and her arms and legs dangled loosely, as the detective lost all her strength. "Sooo sleeeepy..can't staaay...awaaa..uhhhhhh." Her eyes rolled up, her body went limp, and Jo gave out a deep low sigh.

"There, she's out." Mac held the cloth in place as he lowered the woman to the floor. He then saw her long black lashes begin to flutter. "Oh no you don't." Reapplying the rag, the big thug waited a few more minutes to satisfy himself that she was finally done for.

Meanwhile Jo's two partners neared the lighted doorway, when the floor disappeared from under Bedford's feet. Before uttering a sound the detective was sucked down a circular tube and deposited in a glass chamber. "What is this?" She began pounding on the glass with no result. "Oh this is great..how am I going to get out of here?"

A TV screen came on above her, and a man's face looked down. "You're not supposed to..Ha, ha, ha." She then heard a hissing sound, and saw a misty cloud appear from the floor. "This doesn't look good.

Dawn slowly opened the door, unaware of her partner's plight. She saw a man leaning over the unconscious figure of Shadow Gal, and sneaked up behind him. "You're under arr.." Dawn never finished her statement as the man whirled around and slammed his fist hard against the detectives jaw, nearly unhinging it. Her head snapped to the side, as her body fell backwards. he felt as if her body was floating down through a fog, and her mind went blank, until hitting the floor. "UHHNNNN!" Dawn was startled back to her senses, but had a difficult time getting to all fours, when she saw another fist coming at her like a freight train. "UNNGGHH!" She fell on her side and rolled over, half awake. "OOOWWW!" The man grabbed her hair, pulling her body upwards, and then slammed his fist in her stomach.."WOOOFF!" Air was expelled as she bent over in pain. But then the pain was erased, when the final blow hit the side of her head, collapsing her legs, and sending the helpless detective sprawling onto the floor, unconscious.

Back in the glass enclosure under the floor, Bedford fought to stay awake as the gas climbed up the chamber engulfing the poor detective. "Cough..cough..can't breathe." She collapsed to her knees, sinking below the cloud. "Sooo..weak..need.. to sleeeeep." Raising her fist above her head, Bedford made one last swing at the glass, missing it and landing on the floor next to it. "UUuuhhhh." Everything went black.

Upstairs, Felix stepped over the unconscious Detective Peters to dial his cell phone. "Hello Captain, are you missing something? Or to be more accurate three somethings?" He laughed. "You'll find them in a warehouse near the docks, better hurry." He then called out to Mac. "Time to go."

Twenty minutes later the pair stood at the rear of the convention center dressed in armored car uniforms. "they should be finished counting the weeks receipts by now." Felix smiled at his partner.

"Where's the truck?" Asked the man behind the door.

"We couldn't get through the crowd in the parking lot, so we brought the cart to carry the money back to the truck." Felix hoped the story was good enough, and since the men in the convention center were expecting the armored truck, both he and Mac were admitted to the counting room. "How much is certified in the sacks?" Felix asked as he signed the receipt book.

"Five million, four hundred thousand." The man replied. "Just the two of you?" He sounded surprised. "The place was full of police just a few minutes ago, but they were suddenly called away with sirens screeching."
No way, there are four other heavily armed men outside." Felix lied, and then pushed the metal cart full of cash through the door, around the corner to the blue panel truck. "I wonder how the Captain will explain this?" Felix said to Mac, driving into the dark night.

The End
