Iron Maiden vs. the Ogress Jenny James, as the Iron Maiden, was investigating a series of bizarre technology thefts in the South side of town. As she went over the loading docks where the latest thefts occurred, analyzing the scene with her suit’s built-in scanning equipment, she breathed a heavy sigh. This lead, like so many others on the case, was looking like another dead end. The Iron Maiden combat armor that Jenny designed and wore could do a great many things. It augmented her strength and protected her from harm. It allowed her to fly and it had all sorts of offensive weaponry, not to mention the scanners she was currently using to locate things others couldn’t see. But it couldn’t protect her from fatigue. Jenny was tired and she decided it was time to call it a day. Just then, she felt a rumbling, very different from the rumble of the trucks that went by the loading docks at all hours of the day and night. She decided it was time to hit the air to get a better vantage point. She kicked in her suit’s jets and leapt to the air, but she came to a grinding halt about 30 feet above the ground, as if she were chained to the spot. She looked down and gasped. Beneath her was a large robot, three times the size of an ordinary person. It’s hand was firmly grasping her ankle and her jump jets were making no progress against its iron grip. Jenny decided to cut the jump jets and raised her arm to fire her blasters at the machine. But as she did so, the robot swung her by the leg into the wall of a nearby warehouse, as if she were just a doll. The impact rattled her, and would have killed an ordinary person, but the suit did its job and protected her from harm. She tried to get up, but the robot had not released her feet. The machine picked her up again and slammed her several times on the pavement. “This is getting old,” Jenny panted, as she aimed her blaster at her feet and fired. The blast caused the robot to release her, but did no apparent damage. Jenny used the opportunity to attempt to fly up, where she could try and get the measure of her opponent. Jenny managed to get up to about 50 feet, which she felt was well beyond the reach of the robot and decided what to do next. Her armor was dented in dozens of places and it looked like her blasters were fried. Not that it mattered, she realized, because the robot looked like it was well protected against her weaponry. She studied the robot and realized that there was someone inside it, riding in the torso like a pilot in a jet fighter. Then the thing spoke. “Don’t think you can get away that easily, girlie!” it said in a distinctly woman’s voice. “I’m not done with you yet!” and then it raised an arm and fired a cable that quickly wrapped around the Iron Maiden’s body and began pulling her back down to the robot’s grip. Jenny worked to break the cable, but then the machine sent an electrical surge up the line which disrupted her suit’s systems and left the heroine in a semi-conscious daze. Before she knew it, she was lying in the palm of the giant robot’s hands. “The time has come, Iron Maiden,” the machine said “for the world to see what a loser you really are. When it comes to battlesuits, nobody beats THE OGRESS!!” Jenny tried to get away, but the fingers of the robot’s hand closed around her in an unbreakable grip. Then the other hand lifted above her. Jenny noticed that there were tiny claws in the tips of the fingers, like dozens of garden rakes. The Ogress brought the hand down and the claws caught on the edges of the Iron Maiden suit, ripping it free from Jenny’s body. Jenny looked down in horror. The Ogress had easily pulled her suit’s pieces away, leaving her left arm and shoulder bare, and exposing a considerable amount of her left side as well. Her breast plate was a mangled mess. The Ogress was getting ready for another swipe with her claws and Jenny knew that the next pass would leave her defenseless, a naked plaything for this twisted woman’s schemes. Jenny took stock. Her weapons were useless. She might be able to fly, but not far. Then she looked at the Ogress and got an idea. She bent her legs and angled her body so that she was pointing at the ogress and then fired her jump jets. The maneuver surprised the Ogress, but not for long. She reached up to grab at Iron Maiden’s legs, but the claws simply stripped the boots off them, leaving the heroine’s feet bare as she flew over the robot. The Ogress turned around, but the Iron Maiden was not where she expected to find her. She screamed in rage and then began searching the area for the crippled heroine. Meanwhile, on the Orgress’ broad back, Jenny was hard at work. She used her visor to scan the robot’s interior and quickly found what she was looking for. Her right arm was still functioning and made quick work of the access panel on the robot’s back and she quickly disconnected the systems that sent signals from the pilot to the rest of the robot. The Ogress was immobilized. Still, Jenny knew this was only a temporary solution. She needed to get this woman out of this suit and what was left of her own armor wasn’t up to the job. Jenny took the wires that she had just disconnected and then connected them to her own suit’s helmet. She wriggled the fingers of her right hand and saw the Ogress’ robotic fingers make a similar motion. Then Jenny looked down at the remains of her own armor and heaved a great sigh. Jenny reached her right arm across her own body, grabbed the breast plate firmly and ripped it off. The robot arm made the same motion and ripped open the cockpit of the Ogress’ armor. Jenny smiled as she heard the Ogress scream in anger and fear. Jenny formed her hand into a claw and raked her fingernails across her bare belly. The robot arm dove into the cockpit, pulling out cables, wires, and tore across the Ogress, shredding the harness that was holding her in place. The Ogress tried to escape, but Jenny merely tapped the woman on the head with a robotic finger and the Ogress was out cold. Jenny pulled her helmet off, disconnected the wires, and climbed down to survey the damage. The Ogress laid unconscious before her, her clothes cut to ribbons by her own suit’s claws. All that remained of Jenny’s own suit resembled a very complicated pair of shorts. Jenny took some of the wire hanging from the damaged cockpit and bound The Ogress very firmly. She figured the police would be arriving soon. The Ogress’ robot was permanently crippled. It would be safe where it was until she could arrange to have it delivered to her cybernetics company (where the police would deliver any bit of mysterious technology that they needed analysis on – it was a good arrangement for her). Jenny decided it was time to make a hasty exit. It wouldn’t do to have a widely respected crimefighter discussing matters with the police while she was half naked. No one would be doing anything but looking at her breasts anyway. She gathered up all of the major bits of her armor that she could find and ducked into an conveniently located alley. She ducked behind a dumpster and pressed a button on the inside of one of her gauntlets. As she began stripping off the rest of her armor, she got the return signal from her robot drone, which was flying to her location with a change of clothes. Soon she would be able to great the police as Jenny James, respected cyberneticist and head of James Industries. As she waited, Jenny looked at the still unconscious form of the Ogress. Outside of her robot, the woman looked extremely ordinary – she probably wouldn’t have given her a second look on the street. Much like herself, Jenny mused. Yes, Jenny thought, this woman would require additional investigation. The Ogress was down for now, but Jenny seriously doubted that this would be the last she would hear from her. THE END
